I love the classic silhouette of a suit jacket, paired with soft feminine accessories. In this case, I used the LSDS pattern of 1915, Jacket du Costume Tailleur, to create a dashing and lovely ensemble for your own darling Bleuette. The soft green corduroy is embellished with hand top-stitching and a vintage lace collar. Working hand sewn buttonholes hold fast beautiful antique glass buttons. The jacket is fully lined in silk taffeta.
The skirt was created from a cream and black boucle weave, cut on the bias to enhance the soft folds. The dainty matching blouse is of iridescent silk , edged in black with bias trim. The back closes with two rondelles and hand worked loops.
The most feminine touch of this entire look must be the wonderful Swiss braid bonnet, trimmed with vintage grosgrain ribbon, rose buds, silk flowers, and stamens. I sized this costume to fit both vintage and reproduction Bleuettes.
