Anticipation
Hello everyone! Its been a long winter but spring is finally here and with it a blizzard of activity to get things up to date.

Since my last blog i have posted 4 new works- "Anticipation", "Bedtime Stories", "Old Mill in Winter" and "Enlightenment".  Please check out these new works under my Original Works on the main page. In a later blog i will go into detail about each piece.

I received word Friday the 2nd that my painting "Good Harvest" has been accepted into the 56th annual Delta Exhibition competition for 2014. This event is held annually at the Arkansas Arts Center with top artists competing from Arkansas and all surrounding states. Needless to say it is a difficult event to even get accepted into and i am honored to be a part of this year's exhibit. Awards will be announced on June 27th and posted in the Arkansas Democrat Gazette as well as other publications.

I am currently awaiting the results of the prestigious Art Renewal Center's International Salon competition for 2014. I am a finalist in the portrait/figure division along with some of the top artists from around the globe. I was honored to be selected to be a finalist in this event as i am competing against some of the top artists devoted to realism in the world. More on that later.

Sunday Karen and I attended the annual Arkansas League of Artists Spring competition held in Little Rock at the Cox Creative Center. My painting "Hide & Seek" won First Place in the Portrait/Figure category. This work along with 51 other artworks including Karen's Spring Lily painting will be on display there through May 30th. The center is located at 120 River Market Avenue in downton Little Rock in the River Market district. The works can be seen M-F 9am to 5pm and Sunday 1-5pm located on the 3rd floor. Contact the center at 501 918 3093 for more info.

And finally, the best for last. Starting Wednesday May 7th, I will have a Solo Exhibit of 25 paintings and drawings at the St James Unitied Methodist Church in west Little Rock. This is a collection of some of my best works with many for sale. All are original oils on canvas as well as original charcoal and graphite drawings framed and ready for purchase. The show will run for 2 months through July 7th. St. James United Methodist Church is located at 321 Pleasant Valley Drive in west Little Rock just off I-430. Contact number is 501.217.6700 for more info on gallery times.

Thats all for now. Thanks so much for all the support and encouragement I have received from everyone. Take care and hope to see you at the show!
