Koos and I will be participating this holiday season in three events, one per month. These are new venues for us, so we are very excited. They look like amazing locations. So, mark your calendars now and come and check out all the super cool work we will be bringing. For the show information click on the events page.
The last Trunk Sale for the Crescent Heights community will be the third Saturday of September, the 17th, 11am to 5pm (weather permitting). I will be bringing my Steampunk jewelry and journals and Koos will be bringing his handmade, carved, wooden boxes - perfect for putting my jewelry in !
It will be on Centre Street North and 8th Ave. NE
This is a family friendly event with activities for the kiddies and a chance to support local.
So, I will be continuing with the Family Album series featuring the vintage photographs of my family. I have really enjoyed going through them. They evoked fond memories of those I remembered and made me wonder about the ones I didn't actually know, such as my great grandmother. Elizabeth Nevillier was someone I would have loved to know. The stories my mother would tell me about Nana really made me like her and made me wish that she had been part of my life. I did place a picture of her prominently in this painting below titled Generations.
So, during this time of "Self-Isolation" I decided to create a different body of work based on Steampunk. I've always been fascinated by the Steampunk genre so I tried my hand at some jewelry and some journal covers. I've really enjoyed making these and hope you will check out my creations on my site.
