About

FernandezVega Art
I am a Pulitzer Prize award-winning artist working from my studio in Miami. I graduated from Ringling School of Arts in 1976, and started my career in the field of advertising. Subsequently, I was recruited to work as an Editorial Illustrator and Page Designer for The Miami Herald / El Nuevo Herald, followed by The South Florida Sun Sentinel . Digital Artwork My unique style of digital artwork is a meticulous photoshop montage in layers using sections of my original paintings arranged in ways that will create different markings, forms and shapes combined with filters and some photoshop enhancement tools, hoping you will find the final composition worthy of your liking.
Photo Posters This is a much fun section where you sometimes will see a famous artwork with a brand new twist re-created by me using photoshop techniques and layers, I have given some of them away to friends and family and they can't believe the amount of conversation they generate
Original Paintings I have a lot of difficulty describing my paintings, having come out of a graphic journalist career where most of my duties included Illustrations for articles or feature pages and even designing the poster cover of a daily section, it is hard for me to separate the graphic artist from the painter. I believe that my best approach to this dilemma is the abstract, for in it the uncertainty and unpredictability gives a solid meaning to my interpretation of both.
Watercolor Art In this section I will display some of my artwork created based on photos taken by my wife or me during our travel. Others are just the product of my imagination and or commissioned artwork.
