My unique style of digital artwork is a meticulous photoshop montage in layers using sections of my original paintings arranged in ways that will create different markings, forms and shapes combined with filters and some photoshop enhancement tools, hoping you will find the final composition worthy of your liking.
About
I am a Pulitzer Prize award-winning artist working from my studio in Miami. I graduated from Ringling School of Arts in 1976, and started my career in the field of advertising. Subsequently, I was recruited to work as an Editorial Illustrator and Page Designer for The Miami Herald / El Nuevo Herald, followed by The South Florida Sun Sentinel . In these 3 publications, I received multiple awards from: The Society of Newspaper Designers ( SND ), The Society of Illustrator ( SI ), The Society of Hispanic Journalists ( SHJ ) and The American Institute for Graphic Arts ( AIGA ). I also worked as Senior Graphic Designer for Barton G Enterprises and was an Adjunct Professor at the Art Institute ( ai ) in Miami. My work is inspired by the expressive potential of...

| | I have a lot of difficulty describing my paintings, having come out of a graphic journalist career where most of my duties included Illustrations for articles or feature pages and even designing the poster cover of a daily section, it is hard for me to separate the graphic artist from the painter. I believe that my best approach to this dilemma is the abstract, for in it the uncertainty and unpredictability gives a solid meaning to my interpretation of both. |
