Climate change has happened several times before and many species, including humans, have either suffered great losses or disappeared entirely during these periods. Survival is not based on justice, holiness, merit, etc. but on wealth and luck. The rich can buy survival, and the lucky are fortunate to be in the right place at the right time. Most of us, as in the Noah story, are waiting to see if it will rain before we enter the ark - which has probably already sailed.
