This terrific "new style" sailor suit with the button-on pleated skirt was first offered for Bleuette's trousseau in the G-L catalogue of 1934. The same catalogue offered a classic canotier( boater) and is the perfect match for a sporty sailer suit.
I used a lustrous medium weight cotton twill in this version. I embellished it with cotton braid and finished it off with a royal blue silk tie. The pleated skirt buttons onto the shirt with vintage buttons and hand worked button holes.
This is an extraordinary ensemble to spoil the finest of dolls!
