At Ease

Three union soldiers of the 1st Connecticut Heavy Artillery at Fort Brady, VA; From a photo at the Library of Congress and one of the best not only in clarity and detail but composition. This image is also sometimes refered to as 'The Letter' for obvious reasons. Most images from this era are stiff and unnatural but this one has a more natural look.  Graphite on Bristol 18x24, Framed and matted (sold)
