BLUEBIRD TEXTILES
Artist directory :: BLUEBIRD TEXTILES This terrific "new style" sailor suit with the button-on pleated skirt was first offered for Bleuette's trousseau in the G-L catalogue of 1934. The same catalogue offered a classic canotier( boater) and is the perfect match for a sporty sailer suit.
I used a lustrous medium weight cotton twill in this version. I embellished it with cotton braid and finished it off with a royal blue silk tie. The pleated skirt buttons onto the shirt with vintage buttons and hand worked button holes.
This is an extraordinary ensemble to spoil the finest of dolls!
Note: doll, socks, shoes not included
NEW FOR BLEUETTE
Costumes to dress Bleuette
About
My skills at dressing Bleuette are a culmination of textile endeavors that began at the tender age of five years old when my mother taught me how to embroider. I continued to explore fiber art through sewing, dyeing, weaving and felting until I was reintroduced to dolls and the amazing possibilities of dressing them.
Few dolls have captured my interest so thoroughly. Like so many other Bleuette devotees, she has shown me a way to express my interest in history, fine craftsmanship, haute couture and the wonderful frou-frou of little girls.
