Leda and the Swan original painting by Liza Paizis
is a beautifully detailed original watercolour painting of Leda and the Swan....please click and zoom on all the thumbnails to enjoy
the wonderful flow and delicate detail of this painting.
Being half-Greek myself, one of the stories that has always captured my
imagination is that of Leda and the Swan, the ancient Greek myth of Zeus
disguised as a swan who seduces the innocent Leda.
This painting has an African nuance, but
ethereal too, with allusions to flight and feathers; the dreaminess of
Leda’s imagination as she ponders Zeus’s love…
It is painted with watercolors, coloured pencil and ink with gold paint on smooth heavyweight Stonehenge ivory watercolour paper, and measures 26cm x 18cm (10 1/2 x 7 inches)
It is presented with an acid free ivory mat, and is packaged with acid-free foamcore backing and a protective plastic sleeve. All my original artwork is shipped flat and very well protected with a certificate of authenticity.
