Heptatonic Hexatonic Pentatonic
Heptatonic Hexatonic Pentatonic

Seven traditional Heptatonic Scales or "Modes" (Outer Circle)

Removing the one tone that distinguishes each from its neighbor gives:

Six Hexatonic Scales - the "Natural Bridges" between the modes (Median Circle)

Removing the semitone that distinguishes each Hexatonic scale from its neighbor leaves

Five Pentatonic Scales (Inner Circle)

n.b. This is not cyclic:

Lydian and Locrian are extreme boundaries

Dorian is the center.

Pretty much a straight copy from:

Here are some of the ideas that I have been exploring.

Please let me know if there's anything you want to correct/find interesting/would like a copy of - or to purchase/participate in etc.
