Petite Robe Paysanne 1921 This delightful frock (made from the original pattern La Semaine de Suzette 1921), translates to The Little Peasant Dress . Fine detailing and exquisite accessories transform it from simple to fabulous.
I used a fine cotton batiste for the yoke and lining. The skirt and trim of the dress are reproduction print cotton. The back closes with an antique mother-of-pearl button.
Peeking from underneath are matching bloomers of batiste. They close with a silk ribbon drawstring.
Her amazing sun bonnet is Swiss paglina hat braid. There are a few brown stripes of braid that echo the trim on the dress. It is held fast under her chin with cotton cording ties. Ensemble sized to fit both reproduction and vintage Bleuettes.
