Melissa Blue Fine Art
Artist directory :: Melissa Blue Fine ArtThe idea for this painting came to me in a flash one morning. I was thinking about how the strings of felted flowers I have in my studio look hanging in front of my red cabinet and it hit me~what a fun painting it would make! I went straight to my studio and got to work. It was a joy to paint all that red and then play with it, modifying it with pinks and oranges. The flowers all seemed to paint themselves ~ it makes my heart happy!

About
Melissa has devoted many years to honing her craft, capturing the beauty she finds in the natural world. Her work is informed by a degree in biology as well as many hours in the field, studying how plants and creatures form communities. She is particularly drawn to the connections she finds~plants to geology, insects to plants. "I always knew I was meant to be an artist, but when I started monitoring butterflies at Illinois Beach State Park, I knew I'd found my subject." ~Melissa
